The professional baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN), will qualify graduates to sit for the National Council Licensing Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). The baccalaureate nursing curriculum prepares the graduate to apply knowledge, develop and use critical thinking skills, and demonstrate clinical reasoning in the areas of communication, assessment, cultural sensitivity, and leadership. The baccalaureate nursing graduate will build on the foundation of liberal arts courses such as English, Communication, Psychology, Sociology, Growth and Development, History, Religion, and Fine Arts as well as the in-depth knowledge acquired from courses in Physical and Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Statistics, to provide a foundation for practice in a diverse, complex health care environment. The extensive two years of pre-requisites are incorporated and serve as the foundation for the nursing course work. After completion of the program and graduation, students are eligible to apply for licensure by examination (National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses - NCLEX-RN).
