NUR 3110 - Foundations Of Care


6 hours
An introduction to the roles of professional registered nurses emphasizing the role of direct caregiver. Basic concepts related to providing direct care, maintaining patient safety, and quality of care will be included. Basic theoretical frameworks provide an underpinning for nursing care. Case study presentations, campus/simulated lab experience, and clinical laboratory experiences will be utilized to teach selected knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed for this role. Four (4) hours of instructional time and six (6) hours of clinical time per week. 

Prerequisite: Admission to the Nursing Program
Corequisite: NUR 3120 , NUR 3150
