EAS 3030 - Geographic Information Science 4 hours A multidisciplinary course providing an introduction to the concepts, principles and applications of Geographic Information Systems GIS) technologies in a real world setting. The course will examine the theory and application of geographic information including spatial analysis, data acquisition and synthesis, data management, and information visualization. Emphasis is placed on the interdisciplinary nature of GIS. The course incorporates a hands-on pedagogy, requiring an in-depth comprehension of the hardware and software tools utilized by GIS in real-world problem description and resolution.
