MUS 2022 - Aural Training IV

The aural training sequence continues the study of rhythm, scales, intervals, and chords through sight singing, transcription, and error detection. Topics expand to include church modes; pentatonic, whole-tone, and octatonic scales; quartal and quintal harmonies; asymmetric meters; and metric modulation. Emphasis is on experiential tasks and the skill of audiation; in addition to class meetings, students attend a weekly prepared-singing appointment.
Prerequisite: MUS 2012 .
Taken Concurrently With MUS 2021 .
